We believe in the profound importance of oracy and the role it plays in a child's overall development. By teaching four different languages in Key Stage 2 (KS2), we aim to provide our children with a rich and diverse linguistic experience that will benefit them in numerous ways.

1. Valuing Oracy: Oracy, the ability to express oneself fluently and grammatically in speech, is a fundamental skill that underpins all areas of learning. By exposing children to multiple languages, we enhance their oracy skills, enabling them to communicate more effectively and confidently. This focus on spoken language helps our children develop critical thinking, listening, and social interaction skills.

2. Experiencing a Range of Languages: Introducing children to a variety of languages broadens their cultural horizons and fosters an appreciation for linguistic diversity. 4. Preparation for Secondary School: Our language programme is designed to set children up for success in secondary school, where they will continue their language education. By experiencing a range of languages in KS2, students can make informed choices about which language they wish to pursue further. This early exposure ensures they have a solid foundation, making the transition to secondary language learning smoother and more effective.
